YOU HAVE A VOICE! And it is time to raise it – apply to NEB by March 3

The National Energy Board has begun its review of  TransCanada’s Energy East Pipeline Conversion Project. You have until March 3 to apply to participate by writing a letter or participating in a public hearing             

And we know it may sound a bit silly, but you actually have apply to have your say about the Energy East oil pipeline proposal! Even if you just want to write a letter outlining your concerns about the project, you still have to apply for permission. And now is the time to apply! On Feb. 3, 2015, the application process for participating in the National Energy Boards review of TransCanadas Energy East proposed pipeline for crude oil and diluted bitumen opened. The timer is ticking! You now have only until March 3 to apply for permission to either speak at the hearing or write a letter for consideration during the energy boards review. The application process will close on March 3.

NEB Opens “Application to Participate” – Apply between February 3 and March 3

The National Energy Board has posted links to their online application process. Hearing participants have from February 3 to March 3 to apply to participate in the federal review of TransCanada’s Energy East project application. Those who wish to participate in the hearing for the Energy East Project must apply to participate using the Application to Participate (ATP) form which is now available on the NEB website. The NEB will be hosting online information sessions on how to complete the Application to Participate form. Participants can apply to write a letter of comment, or to become an intervenor in the hearing process. In either case, potential participants must describe how they will be directly affected by the project, and/or what expert information they will bring to the review process.

February’s monthly networking meeting will start at 6 pm (usual time is 6:30) to make time for the first run of a workshop on participation in the National Energy Board review of TransCanada’s Energy East Application. The workshop will begin at 7 pm; participants can take part in the networking meeting, the workshop, or both.

Monthly working group meetings are open to community organizations and local residents concerned bout the Energy East Project. Meetings typically include updates from the Stop Energy East Working Groups and from other community organizations, planning for upcoming events, and information sharing about the Energy East project. The February meeting will focus on working group reports and Energy East project updates.
